The last week of October!

Trevor is learning a lot of new words lately. As they say his language abilities have exploded. He will even say a few new words in a day. He still has troubles with vowel sounds, but we are working on that. He is doing so great.
I have been teaching him that there are girls and boys. He will go through the family and say names and if they are a baby or not, now he goes through the family and if we aren't a baby he will say mommy or daddy. He points to himself and say "No bubbee, Guy!". I don't remember how I introduced the word 'guy' into that lesson but I did. He's not a boy either just a guy. Daddy's not a boy he's a daddy, according to Trevor. He constantly laughs, he is so cute.

Cory turned 1 on Monday. He didn't like the cupcake, I tried to feed it to him the next day but he didn't want it then either. He threw it on the floor. Cory is teething a bit, he still doesn't have any.

Lucky us we got sick this week, too. Lovely stomach flu going around our family. I think Elaine got the worst of it. She felt better yesterday but relapsed after Trevor was sick in the night. Poor girl! I am not feeling well either. I sure hope Dave doesn't get it, too!

Our favorite things Elaine says

She recently said "Cory is so cute I can hardly lift him" - October 2010
She also says "Cory is like a dream come true" - summer and October 2010

This is Elaine's school picture! So pretty!
Elaine is in Kindergarten now and she LOVES it. She often asks me if it is time to go to school yet. she is a great student and quite smart. She is so mature for her age. She is way more mature than I was at that age. She knows the alphabet, numbers, and shapes, she can even sound out some words. You go girl!!
She has even had a boy try to kiss her.

Trevor and Elaine, we have had to take the glasses away because Trevor tries to put them on Cory and he nearly pokes his eyes.
Cory with "cute all over him".

Trevor and Elaine after church a while back.

Kids Say

No pictures this time. I am not so good with computers so I haven't changed the type of file they are. Dave is always busy.

Well, we just finished the fort part of the playset on Saturday. Now we have the swings part to do. Can't it just be over already?

Elaine, who is really our only talker said some things that were funny to me. Others may not think so, but I want to document it so I don't forget it. Yesterday Elaine was playing with Cory and she said "He has a cute face and cute hands and feet, he has cute all over him!"

Friday Elaine had a friend over and they were swimming while Dave and I were working on the playset. There is a bird- possibly pidgeon who frequents our yard and leaves striped feathers in our back yard. Elaine picked it up and I told her she had a skunk feather. She dropped it and said "Aaaah a skunk feather" I had to tell her quick that skunks don't have feathers just fur. It was funny how little kids don't know a whole lot and they believe their parents' garbage.

The last one she asked what happens when we break our brains (hurt our heads really badly) and have to go to the hospital. She asked "Do we have to get a different head?" The things kids ask are so crazy.

I guess Trevor says a few things... We had to feed Elaine her last few bites of some stuffed peppers that she didn't like. We said we were feeding her like a baby. Trevor started calling her, Dave, and me 'Baba'. He is getting what we are saying and it was cool to have him tease us back.

Cory doesn't talk yet, he just army crawls around. He's pretty fast too. He only uses his right leg when he does. He looks like he has an injured left leg because he just drags it behind him.

Big Scissors

This is the first quick paint job, it will look better for the parade.
The idea behind this float is that the Republicans are going to "Cut Government Spending".

This table they are on is about 5 foot by 9 foot if that helps any. They still don't look that big but they are huge.

This week Dave has been very busy getting home near midnight a few times. He was working on a 17 foot pair of scissors for a parade float for the 4th of July parade in Provo. The float is for the Republican Party.
